If you're looking for a low-impact way to work out, then try Pilates. It offers a great way to build muscle mass, increase energy, and improve flexibility. When you're ready to start, the Pilates studios around our Cambridge apartments include:
After graduating with a BFA in painting, Kate Johnson attended the American Academy of Personal Training. Today, she proudly owns FitLAB Pilates. Kate welcomes all sizes and abilities and also offers a non-competitive environment where everyone can feel comfortable working out. Private, semi-private, and small group classes are available. Group sessions are held daily, with some starting as early as 7:00 a.m.
Caryn Connarton started her career as a physical therapist. When she discovered Pilates in 1999, she realized it was what her athlete clients were looking for. Caryn earned her STOTT Pilates certification and opened Beyond Fitness Pilates & Barre Studio in 2002. The studio gains recognition from Scout Magazine and Boston A-List, and is home to passionate teachers who make working out fun. Pilates classes include Mat, Roll and Stretch, and Advanced Mat.
A state-of-art studio, Pure Pilates helps clients "feel better, look better, and ultimately live better" as part of their mission. It's found inside the Commonwealth Sports Club and offers sessions for beginners to advanced students. The classes will help improve your posture and also boost your body awareness. You're sure to leave feeling relaxed and refreshed, and the instructors offer both private and group sessions in a comfortable setting. Classes include Flow, Strength, and Burn. Ask about enjoying your first class at 50 percent off.
